19 months

Dear Ayla,

Wow..its so hard to believe that you are on your way to 2! The time is just going by way too fast! You are super curious and we love showing you new things and watching you explore the world! You are talking a lot and adding new words to your vocabulary all the time.

Stats

Weight: 18lbs
Height: 30.5"

To continue Daddy's birthday celebration, we went to Whistler for the weekend. While the ride up wasnt your favourite, once you were there, you had a blast! We stayed in a hotel and you loved sleeping in the same room with mommy and daddy. You really enjoyed people watching in the village and walking around in your "bear suit". People kept stopping and telling us how cute you were. It was cold there, but didnt seem to mind at all! You LOVED checking out the waterfall behind the village. We also spent part of an afternoon visiting with Jory, Stacey and their kids. You had fun playing in their cabin.

For grandma's bday and Mother's Day, we did a photo shoot with the 3 of us. While you had some fussy moments, we did get some great shots of the 3 of us. It was important to mommy and granny had just been away and was sick. These pictures were taken at Blackie Spit on White Rock by mommy's friend Andrea.

Your grocery store food adventures continue. You have now learned that when we go there, you can get a cookie. Most of the time you share with mommy and daddy, but sometimes you like to eat it all (before you drop it).

We had a play date at the park with Julia, Kathy and your daycare friends. You had so much fun seeing your old teachers and showing them all the things you can now do.

On April 14, you got a new cousin - Matthew, or "Mamu" as you call him. He was born at 4lbs 14oz, even smaller than you! Just like you, he is a fighter and was able to come home after only 3 days! We cant wait to meet him soon!

You came to mommy's school one night before the Spring concert. I don't know who had more fun - you or the kindergarten kids. They so loved showing you all the things that they have to play with in their classroom.

You love hanging around the house and being with mom and dad. You often go into the laundry room and take the broom out of the room and start sweeping the "mess". Books are still a favourite, but you are starting to look at them on your own as well as asking us to read them to you.

With the warmer weather, you are loving being outside as much as possible! We do daily (sometimes more than once) trips to the park and every night after dinner you ask to so "outback" to play in the lane. When Tyson is there, its especially fun. You really enjoy playing and watching him and his dad practice their sports stuff.
